About the working principle of double-sided tape

2025-08-26

Because it has a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to its surface. Adhesives derived from animals and plants in the 19th century, rubber-based adhesives are the primary component of various polymers widely used today. This adhesive's ability to adhere to objects is due to the intermolecular bonding between them, forming a strong bond between the molecules. The adhesive composition varies depending on the label and type, and also varies depending on the polymer.

Double Sided Tape

Double-sided tape consists of three parts: a paper, cloth, or plastic film base material; an elastic pressure-sensitive adhesive or resin-based adhesive; and a roll of release paper (film) on which the adhesive is evenly applied. Based on the adhesive, it can be categorized as solvent-based (oil-based) adhesive tape, emulsion-based (water-based) adhesive tape, hot-melt adhesive tape, roll adhesive tape, and reactive adhesive tape. It is widely used for leather, nameplates, stationery, electronics, automotive accessories, and for attaching and positioning shoes, paper, and handicrafts. Hot-melt double-sided adhesive is also used for stickers, stationery, and office supplies. Oily double-sided tape is mainly used for leather goods, pearl cotton, sponge, shoes and products such as viscosity, air friendly bank German prison sealant, sticky, professional production of printing sealing glue.
