For sealing, you can choose the appropriate sealing tape according to the purpose

2025-10-09

Sealing tape can be selected based on the intended use. If cost is not a concern, opting for a tape with a width of 50mm or 55mm or greater and the highest adhesion is the most direct and reliable option, though this also carries the highest cost.

Sealing tape can be selected to suit different requirements based on the intended use and adhesion. Tape thickness ranges from 38μm to 55μm, and tapes with thicknesses exceeding 55μm can be customized (minimum order size is one sheet, with one sheet covering 4,000 square meters). Sealing tape can be categorized into three grades: low-tack, medium-tack, and high-tack. Low-tack sealing tape is less than 40μm; medium-tack sealing tape is between 40μm and 45μm; high-tack sealing tape is between 45μm and 50μm; and ultra-high-tack sealing tape is over 50μm. You can choose the appropriate tape based on your packaging requirements as follows:

1. For packaging plastic or lightweight items, low-tack sealing tape can still meet your packaging requirements. For example, it can be used to pack small items of clothing or foam packing.

2. For items weighing between 15kg and 20kg, medium-tack sealing tape between 40μm and 45μm can be used.

3. For special products weighing over 20kg, such as those with smooth or varnished cartons, high-tack or ultra-high-tack sealing tape between 45μm and 50μm is required. Testing is required to find the right sealing tape for these situations. You can also use sealing tape produced by hot melt adhesive, but the price is slightly higher.
