How to understand the types and characteristics of high-temperature tapes

2025-12-01

High-temperature tape is an adhesive tape used in high-temperature working environments. It is mainly used in the electronics industry, with a temperature resistance typically between 120°C and 260°C. It is commonly used in painting, leather processing, coating masking, and for fixing electronic components during manufacturing, as well as for masking printed circuit boards and high-temperature processing. High-temperature tapes include KAPTON high-temperature tape, Teflon high-temperature tape, high-temperature masking tape, PET green high-temperature tape, and high-temperature double-sided tape.

Characteristics

Teflon high-temperature tape has the following characteristics:

1. Non-stickiness

2. High and low temperature resistance; long-term use temperature resistance up to 260°C

3. Corrosion resistance

4. Low friction and abrasion resistance

5. Moisture resistance

High insulation

Standard product thicknesses are 0.08mm, 0.13mm, and 0.18mm, and colors include brown and white. Teflon high-temperature tape is mainly used for:

1. Insulation layer in the wire and cable industry.

2. Insulation lining in the electro-oxygen industry.

3. Surface coating of storage tank rollers, lining of guide rail friction surfaces. It can be directly applied to various large flat surfaces and regular curved surfaces (such as rollers), with simple operation, eliminating the limitations of spraying PTFE materials which requires specialized equipment, special processes, and transportation to professional spraying plants.

4. Used as a high-temperature insulating material in textile, food, pharmaceutical, and wood processing industries.

5. Used in color printing packaging machines, plastic weaving and drawing machines, microwave drying, various conveyor belts, and various bag making machines and sealing machines in the garment ironing and sealing packaging industry, etc., for heat-sealing end faces.

High-temperature tape

High-temperature PET green tape has the following characteristics:

High-temperature PET green tape

1. Excellent initial tack and adhesion.

2. No residue, no curling, and no peeling after baking.

3. Solvent resistance.

4. Acid and alkali resistance.

5. Long-term temperature resistance up to 200℃. The thicknesses of high-temperature PET green tape are: 0.055mm, 0.060mm, 0.070mm, 0.080mm, 0.10mm, 0.12mm, and 0.13mm. Colors include: light green, grass green, dark green, dark green, yellow, blue, sky blue, black, and transparent (custom colors available).

High-temperature PET green tape is mainly used for:

1. High-temperature powder coating and masking for chassis, tempered glass cups, etc.

2. High-temperature masking for PCB boards.

3. Masking for PCB board tinning and gold plating.

4. High-temperature potting and masking for LED dot matrix blocks, digital tubes, and LED display panels for electrical appliances.
