Single-sided fiber tape for bundling new energy batteries

In 2022, the energy storage track continued to be hot. On the one hand, the domestic large-scale storage bidding volume increased rapidly, the economy was rising, and the global installed capacity was expected to surge nearly 15 times in 4 years. On the other hand, overseas household storage and portable energy storage exploded, and domestic manufacturers' shipments soared.


At the same time, the energy storage industry has received more national policy support. In 2022, a number of domestic policies have been introduced to accelerate the development of the energy storage industry. In March 2022, the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of New Energy Storage" jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration proposed that by 2025, new energy storage will enter the stage of large-scale development from the initial stage of commercialization and have the conditions for large-scale commercial application; by 2030, new energy storage will be fully market-oriented.


Tape is an item composed of a base material and an adhesive. It can connect two or more unconnected objects together through bonding. At present, when installing new energy vehicle battery packs, tape is needed to tie them up and fix them to prevent the battery packs from loosening. New energy batteries will generate high temperatures when in use, but the existing special tape for bundling new energy vehicle battery packs cannot play a good role in fire prevention and high temperature resistance when in use. It is very easy for the tape to be melted by high temperature, which will cause the battery pack to loosen and affect its normal use.

In recent years, with the rapid development of the battery tape industry, more and more people are using and knowing lithium battery tape. Therefore, the use of battery tape is also increasing, from which we can see the battery tape industry. There are many kinds of lithium battery tapes, so the performance and strength of various brands of tapes are different, and everyone should choose properly.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the fiber tape has long-lasting adhesion and special properties, excellent alkali resistance, high tensile strength and self-adhesiveness against deformation, insulation and thermal conductivity, so it can be used for bundling protection of small power batteries. Of course, fiber tape can be divided into two types: striped fiber tape and grid fiber tape according to the arrangement of glass fibers. At the same time, there is also a difference between single-sided fiber tape and double-sided fiber tape when the adhesive is applied on one side or both sides. In actual application, single-sided striped fiber tape is often used for lithium battery bundling tape.

① High tensile strength, strong toughness, not easy to break when pulled, and wear resistance; (the transparent PET substrate is reinforced with longitudinal glass fibers to provide high tensile strength and can prevent friction and moisture);

② High viscosity, good initial adhesion, convenient and fast packaging and bundling process, not easy to loosen, economical and affordable;

③ Tightly adhere, has good adhesion to various surfaces, and the tape does not debond;

④ Temperature range -30℃~60℃, applicable all year round.
