ET single-sided tape—also known as PET tape or PET high-temperature tape—is manufactured by coating a PET substrate with an acrylic adhesive.
The advantages of PET single-sided tape include:
● Minimal adhesive transfer
● Leaves a clean surface upon removal
● Low outgassing under vacuum conditions
● Excellent masking performance
● Easily removable
● Suitable for temporary or transfer applications
When used as a temporary or transfer tape, only minimal pressure is required for application. Green PET laboratory tape serves as an economical alternative to Kapton tape for less demanding applications and in environments where temperatures remain below 200°C. Thanks to the relatively thicker film of its silicone-based adhesive—which results in lower overall adhesion strength—the tape is easy to remove and leaves the surface clean.
PET single-sided tape exhibits excellent chemical, thermal, and dimensional stability, as well as strong initial tack and cohesive strength. It is easy to die-cut and demonstrates excellent adhesion to plastics, rubber, and metals. It can be utilized across a wide temperature range and in harsh environments, with long-term temperature resistance reaching 100–120°C and short-term resistance reaching 140–200°C.
For the reasons outlined above, this PET single-sided tape is suitable for use in:
● Computers
● Mobile phones
● Communication devices
● Audio-visual equipment
● Automotive products
