In our daily life, everyone should be very familiar with tapes, and we often use them to stick things. However, most of them use transparent tape, and some are black tapes used by electricians. In fact, it is rare to see fiberglass tape, and even if you see it, you may not recognize it, and there may be a situation where the name does not match the actual object. Today, I will introduce fiber tape to you.
Filament tape uses PET/OPP film as the base material, glass fiber yarn or glass fiber mesh to strengthen it, and is coated with hot melt adhesive to make an adhesive tape product. Therefore, the fiberglass tape made of glass fiber yarn is a striped fiber tape, and the fiberglass tape made of glass fiber mesh is a mesh fiber tape. These are single-sided fiber tapes. In addition, there is also a fiberglass mesh double-sided tape made of higher-strength fiberglass mesh cloth.
Product features of fiberglass tape:
1. High viscosity: specially configured high-performance adhesive can ensure suitable viscosity on most materials.
2. High tensile strength: wear-resistant, transparent PET film is used as the backing material, longitudinal glass fiber is reinforced, and the tape performance is stable.
3. High-performance adhesive, wide temperature adaptability range: specially configured high-performance adhesive layer has a wide temperature adaptability range, and can be pasted in different environments such as winter (above 0℃) and summer (note that the optimal operating environment temperature is 15℃-35℃, and it becomes more difficult to paste as the temperature continues to decrease due to the gradual hardening of the adhesive layer). Once pasted, it can maintain a good pasting effect in a wider temperature range.
Of course, the service life of fiber tape is relatively long, but basic maintenance is also required:
1. Fiber tape should be stored in the warehouse to prevent sun and rain; it should not come into contact with acid, alkali, oil and organic solvents, keep it clean and dry, 1m away from the device, and the room temperature is between -15℃ and 40℃.
2. It is best to use a crane when loading and unloading the conveyor belt, and then use a rigging with a crossbeam to lift it steadily to prevent damage to the belt edge. Avoid rough loading and unloading to cause loose rolls and throw sets.
3. Fiber tape should be placed in rolls, not folded, and should be turned over once a quarter if stored for too long.
4. Fiber tapes of different varieties, specifications, strengths, and layers should not be connected (grouped) together for use.
5. Conveyor belt joints should be hot-vulcanized as much as possible to improve stability and maintain a higher effective strength.
6. The types, specifications and models of rubber fiber tapes should be reasonably selected according to application requirements and specific conditions.
7. The conveyor roller diameter of the conveyor and the minimum pulley diameter of the conveyor belt should meet the relevant requirements. When the conveyor is equipped with baffles and cleaning devices, the wear of the fiber belt should be prevented.
8. Do not let the fiber belt snake or creep. Keep the drag roller and vertical roller flexible and the tension should be moderate.
9. When the fiber belt is damaged in the early stage during use, the cause should be found and repaired immediately to prevent adverse effects.
10. Cleanliness is the basic condition for the fiber belt to maintain good operation. External substances will affect the belt eccentricity, tension difference, and even breakage.
