How to store and maintain fiber tape?

2025-07-02

Tape is something we often use in our daily life. Since it was invented, tape has developed into many types, such as transparent tape, high temperature tape, double-sided tape, insulating tape, and special tape, etc. In fact, it can also be divided according to the substrate used, such as cloth-based tape, cotton paper tape, masking tape, PET tape, BOPP tape, etc.

In order to meet the needs of industrial production and life, people have invented fiber tape. The difference between fiber tape and ordinary tape is that its raw material is PET, which contains polyester fiber thread for strengthening effect, and is equipped with special hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive, which makes the filament tape particularly strong. Therefore, glass fiber cloth tape has the characteristics of strong tensile strength, friction resistance, high temperature resistance, solvent resistance, insulation, and good flame resistance.

Fiber tape can be divided into two types according to the arrangement of glass fibers: striped fiber tape and grid fiber tape. At the same time, there is also a difference between single-sided fiber tape and double-sided fiber tape when the adhesive is coated on one or both sides. In addition, according to specific application scenarios, fiber tape manufacturers will choose materials and adhesives with different viscosity and peel strength to meet customers' various strength and viscosity requirements.

Application requirements description:

① Fix internal parts (such as refrigerator drawers and refrigerator doors) so that they do not move during transportation;

② After transportation, it is easy to remove and no residual glue is left.

③ Wide temperature adaptability, no residual glue can be removed in high temperature, high humidity and low temperature environments

Precautions for product use:

1. The bonding strength depends on the contact area between the adhesive surface and the adhered surface, so appropriate pressure and time can improve the bonding strength.

2. The surface of the adhered material should be kept clean and free of oil and dirt. If necessary, it can be cleaned with solvents such as isopropyl alcohol and acetone.

3. The best operating temperature for pasting is room temperature. At lower temperatures, it becomes more difficult to paste because the film is harder.

Product storage and maintenance:

1. It is recommended to use the tape that is put into storage first;

2. It is recommended to store the tape in a dry and cool place away from sunlight (under normal temperature and humidity);

3. Under appropriate storage conditions, the storage period is two years from the date of production.
