(1) Structure of Self-Adhesive Label Materials
The structure of self-adhesive label materials mainly consists of three layers: backing, adhesive layer, and release liner.
The backing is the surface printing layer, such as coated paper, PET, PVC, synthetic paper, roughened paper, and aluminum foil. The release liner, also known as adhesive release paper, has an oil-based surface treatment, is non-adhesive, easy to peel off, and serves to protect the adhesive layer.
(2) Main Performance Parameters
The main performance parameters of self-adhesive label materials are as follows.
1. Base paper thickness or basis weight, i.e., the thickness of the surface printed layer or the weight of the surface printed layer per square meter;
2. Adhesive layer 180° peel strength, unit: kg/25mm;
3. Holding power;
4. Peel strength, unit: g/25mm;
5. Tensile strength, unit: kg/25mm;
6. Elongation;
7. Temperature resistance, solvent resistance, cold resistance, water resistance, weather resistance, flame retardancy;
8. Deformation;
9. Re-adhesion;
10. Storage conditions, shelf life.
