How to choose fiber tape correctly?

2025-04-11

Fiber tape uses high-strength glass fiber yarn or cloth as reinforcing material, PET film (OPP film) as base material, and specially configured high-performance pressure-sensitive synthetic rubber as adhesive, and is made through process processing and coating. Product features of fiber tape:

1. The transparent PET base material is reinforced with longitudinal glass fibers to provide high tensile strength and anti-friction, anti-scratch, and moisture-proof;

2. The specially configured high-performance adhesive layer can ensure suitable adhesion on most materials and no residual glue will flow after removal, leaving no oil marks, etc.;

3. The specially configured high-performance adhesive layer has a wide temperature adaptability range and can be pasted in different environments such as winter (above 0℃) and summer (note that the optimal operating environment temperature is 15℃-35℃, and it becomes more difficult to paste as the temperature continues to drop due to the gradual hardening of the adhesive layer). Once pasted, it can maintain a good pasting effect in a wider temperature range;

4. Text or advertisements can also be printed on the transparent PET film to meet different needs

At present, the quality of fiber tapes on the market is uneven. The requirements for high strength and no residue of fiber tapes are getting higher and higher. There are more and more manufacturers. It is very important to choose a fiber tape manufacturer. So what should be paid attention to when identifying fiber tapes?

1. Color: Most of the fiber tapes themselves are transparent PET polyester base film and white glass fiber yarn, coated with high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive.

2. The overall color is white. In order to minimize costs, some manufacturers use inferior glue, which is not stable and easily ages and turns yellow.

3. Generally, fiber tapes are recommended to be used up in half a year or so, and need to be placed in a ventilated and dry room temperature environment (about 25 degrees Celsius).

4. Flatness of the adhesive surface: Uneven adhesive surface will lead to uneven distribution of viscosity, and wrinkles and bounces will occur during use.

5. Straightness of fiber yarn: The straightness of the yarn directly affects the tensile strength of the fiber tape, which will have serious consequences for the current heavy packaging and bundling industry, especially the steel bundling industry.
