Detailed explanation and uses of electrical tape

2024-03-05

Electrical tape is commonly used in daily life, but non-professionals may not know much about electrical tape. Now let’s learn about what electrical tape is and its uses? The full name of the electrical tape product produced by the tape manufacturer is actually polyvinyl chloride electrical insulating adhesive tape, which specifically refers to the tape used by electricians to prevent leakage and provide insulation.

It is made of polyvinyl chloride film as the base material and coated with rubber-type pressure-sensitive adhesive. In terms of performance, electrical tape has good insulation, flame resistance, voltage resistance, cold resistance and other properties. In terms of color, it comes in red, yellow, blue, white, green, black, transparent and other colors. In addition, it is suitable for wire winding, insulation and fixation of various types of motors and electronic parts such as transformers, motors, capacitors, and voltage regulators; it can also be used for bundling, fixing, overlapping, repairing, sealing, and protection in industrial processes. However, it should be noted that electrical tape also has shortcomings. Although it has good waterproof performance, it is easy to break, so it needs to be wrapped with two layers of plastic tape as a protective layer. The insulating self-adhesive tapes of the joints do not stick to each other and have better performance.
