What are the performance characteristics of non-residue tape used for temporary fixation in the home appliance industry?

Everyone must be familiar with refrigerators, which are very common in our lives. I wonder if you have noticed that the doors, brackets, drawers and small parts such as ice trays of the new refrigerators we bought are often covered with a white or transparent single-sided tape. What are these tapes used for? Our new refrigerators look so neat on the outside, don’t these tapes seem to affect the appearance?

In fact, the prominent role of these tapes is to fix the components of electrical equipment during production and transportation. A refrigerator is transported from the manufacturing plant to the store, warehouse or consumer’s home, and it is inevitable to shake and vibrate along the way. If there are no certain fixing measures, the refrigerator door can easily be shaken open during transportation. Yes, under normal circumstances, refrigerators, air conditioners and other electrical appliances need to be fixed when they are transported from the factory. The appliance fixing tape is used here. The main function is to facilitate the fixing of appliances with moving parts such as refrigerators, so as to ensure stability during transportation and reduce damage to home appliances. Otherwise, without these tapes, it is difficult to ensure that each refrigerator will not be damaged by vibrations on the road when it arrives at the destination.

Filament Tape

If you look closely, you will find that these single-sided tapes are very light in color, and you can usually see strips of "fibers" on the surface - these are glass fibers used to enhance the strength of the tape. This type of tape is also called fiberglass tape. Fiber tape is a reinforced glass fiber or polyester (PET) fiber. Some companies will also choose BOPP instead of PET base film to reduce costs. Fiber tape has extremely strong breaking strength, excellent wear resistance and moisture resistance, and the unique pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has excellent long-lasting adhesion and special properties, so it is widely used in life.

In the home appliance industry, manufacturers have specially designed a non-residue adhesive tape for this purpose, which is easy to peel off and combines a strong polyester film backing with uninterrupted glass yarn fibers and hot-melt synthetic rubber resin glue. The high-strength film backing has appropriate hardness and excellent wear and moisture resistance, and the strong adhesive is specially formulated with the characteristics of quick adhesion, long-lasting fixation, and thorough peeling on various surfaces.

Residue-free fiber tape is specially used to fix electrical equipment components during production and transportation. Reinforced with uninterrupted high-strength glass fibers, this high-performance tape provides high adhesion to a variety of interfaces while releasing cleanly and leaving no marks on most finishes. Commonly used in metalworking, appliance, electronics, and general industrial markets.
