Specialty tape—also known as opaque tape or, more broadly, as a light-shielding material—is an adhesive product utilized for edging the bezels of LED and LCD displays, shielding light sources, and blocking light penetration. It features superior light-shielding capabilities, a flexible composition, and strong adhesion that resists lifting or curling. It serves as a cost-effective and highly effective auxiliary material for use in LED and LCD applications.

Classification of Specialty Tapes: By Material: Light-shielding paper tape, light-shielding film tape. 

By Color: Bright silver, matte silver, black-and-silver, black (or "all-black"), black-and-white, white-and-silver, and white film (or "all-white") specialty tapes.

By Adhesion Type: Single-sided adhesive tape, double-sided adhesive tape. By Opacity Level: Semi-opaque tape, completely opaque tape. By Substrate Structure: Single-layer release liner tape, double-layer release liner tape.
