Many people speak of "cloth adhesive" in one context and "cloth tape" in another; to a layperson, these might sound like two distinct products. In reality, however, they are one and the same. Many of us simply refer to cloth tape as "cloth adhesive"—the terms are interchangeable.
Cloth tape is primarily manufactured using a substrate created through the thermal lamination of polyethylene and gauze fibers. It features strong peel adhesion, high tensile strength, and resistance to grease, aging, temperature fluctuations, water, and corrosion; it is, in essence, a highly adhesive, insulating tape. Its primary applications include sealing cardboard boxes, splicing carpet seams, heavy-duty bundling, and waterproof packaging. Cloth tape is available in a variety of main colors, such as earthy brown, black, silver-gray, red, and green.
