Industrial Uses of Mylar Tape: It is professionally used during the circuit board impregnation process to mask "gold fingers" (contact pads), preventing the ingress and contamination of electroplating solutions and protecting the board. It features straight edges, is easy to remove without leaving adhesive residue, and is made of polyester film with high temperature resistance. It serves as an insulating material for wrapping components in the electronics industry, such as transformers, motors, coils, capacitors, and variable-frequency power supplies.
It is widely used for the insulation wrapping of electrical machinery and electronic components (transformers, motors, capacitors, etc.) and for high-voltage isolation between the motherboard circuitry and the casing of switching power supplies. It is also used for wrapping pouch-style lithium batteries; for instance, when applied between the protection circuit board and the battery cell, it provides fixation, insulation, and fire-retardant properties.
1. Mylar tape should be stored in a warehouse, protected from direct sunlight and rain. Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, oils, or organic solvents; keep the storage area clean and dry. Store at least 1 meter away from heating devices, with an ambient temperature between -15°C and 40°C.
2. Do not mix or use Mylar tapes of different types, specifications, models, strengths, or ply counts together.
3. Select the appropriate type and specification of Mylar tape based on specific usage requirements and operating conditions.
4. Mylar tape should be stored in rolls and not folded; if stored for an extended period, the rolls should be turned over once per season.
5. Prevent the tape from snaking or creeping; ensure that idler rollers and vertical rollers operate smoothly, and maintain appropriate tension.
6. Cleanliness is essential for the proper operation of Mylar tape; foreign matter can cause tracking deviations, tension imbalances, or even tape breakage.
