There are many types of special tapes on the market, such as water and road marking tape, warning tape, zebra tape, and floor tape. Floor tape is increasingly used in the management of many companies' production workshops, especially in companies implementing 5S (Sort, Set in order, Set in order). Floor tape can be divided into two types based on color: two-color and single-color. Commonly used two-color tapes are: black and yellow, red and white, and green and white; commonly used single-color tapes are: white, red, yellow, and green. So, what do these colors represent?

Black and yellow two-color floor tape is mainly used for marking lines in workshop aisles, reminding unauthorized personnel not to obstruct passageways or easily enter areas outside the designated areas. The alternating yellow and black stripes indicate a need for special attention.

Red and white two-color floor tape is mainly used for marking lines in workshop aisles or around fire-fighting facilities. The alternating red and white stripes indicate that people are prohibited from entering dangerous environments and also remind people not to obstruct fire-fighting facilities.

Green and white striped floor tape is primarily used for marking work areas. The alternating green and white stripes provide a more noticeable visual cue, alerting people to take safety precautions in advance.

White floor tape is mainly used for positioning moving items, such as forklift parking positions.

Red floor tape is primarily used in areas where quality is not up to standard, reminding employees to handle these products or materials promptly.

Yellow floor tape, if about 5cm wide, is mainly used to fix immovable items, such as shelves and equipment, for positioning purposes. A 10cm wide tape is also used for marking aisles.

Green floor tape is primarily used in areas where quality is up to standard, reminding employees to handle these products or materials correctly and promptly. It can also be used to mark the positioning of moving objects or equipment when the floor is white.

These are not mandatory regulations; they are generally determined by the company based on common sense. Many companies now use only black and yellow floor tape for marking to simplify the process.
